Lawrence Electronics Recycling Event Set for August 8
MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): The City of Lawrence will hold its annual electronics recycling event on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event will give Douglas County residents an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronic devices.

Event Details and Accepted Items
The collection drive will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St. The free event is open to all county residents, although recycling fees will apply for certain television and monitor types.
Residents can bring a wide range of electronic items, including computers, printers, gaming consoles, mobile phones, stereos, microwaves, light fixtures, battery backup units, and other devices that use electricity or have a power cord.
Items Not Accepted and Fee Schedule
Prohibited items include household batteries, refrigerators, large appliances, furniture, tires, chemicals, light bulbs, smoke detectors, vapes, CDs, DVDs, and devices containing Freon, authorities noted.
Leading electronics recycling company Teknix Solutions will be responsible for collection and responsible handling of devices. The company will follow environmentally responsible recycling techniques after destruction of responsible data.
A $40 fee will be charged for recycling CRT televisions, CRT monitors, and projection TVs, while LCD televisions and monitors will have a recycling fee of $10 each. Payments will be accepted via cash, PayPal, or Venmo. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.
