SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Livingston County residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused and leftover latex paint during the county’s upcoming Latex Paint Recycling Event, scheduled to be held this Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Organized by the Livingston County Solid Waste Program, the one-day event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.The event is designed to help residents responsibly recycle latex paint stored in basements, garages, and other household spaces.

County officials encourage residents to take advantage of the program to prevent improper disposal and support local environmental sustainability efforts. All drop-offs will be conducted by appointment only. Hence, interested participants will need to register in advance, through the designated event registration link.
A fee structure will apply based on container size. Residents will be charged $0.50 for containers of one quart or smaller, $2.00 for one-gallon containers, and $10.00 for five-gallon containers. Payments will be accepted in the form of cash or check.
The recycling initiative is supported through a partnership between the Livingston County Drain Commissioner–Solid Waste Program and the Livingston County Board of Commissioners.
The event provides a convenient and environmentally responsible solution for managing unwanted latex paint.
