SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Portland Timbers will host the Goal for Green Recycling Event on April 17 in partnership with Pacific Office Automation as part of the club’s ongoing environmental sustainability initiative.
The Earth Day-themed event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at Pacific Office Automation’s Beaverton, Oregon facility and is designed to promote responsible recycling, secure document disposal, and sustainable business practices.
Organized under the Timbers’ “Green Is Gold” environmental program, the event aims to educate the local community on conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability while encouraging environmentally responsible habits.

Community members will have access to complimentary paper shredding services, electronics and material recycling opportunities, sustainability workshops, vendor exhibits, and local food trucks.
Recycling services will be provided by Green Century Recycling, DataSafe and James Recycling. Sustainability workshops will be led by Square 9 Softworks, focusing on secure and intelligent document management solutions.
Christie Wakefield, Vice President of Marketing at Pacific Office Automation, said the initiative highlights the connection between sustainability and data security while offering the community a responsible way to reduce environmental impact.
