This year, five organizations within WM’s service area received grants totaling $10,000 to support their environmental efforts.

  • Redesign Collective: ReFabrica (SODO) received $3,000 to provide workforce training for Casa Latina immigrants and assist small businesses in upcycling textiles. The organization also received additional funding to tackle litter by installing cigarette butt collection containers in the neighborhood.

  • Chu Minh Tofu and Vegetarian Deli (Rainier Valley) was awarded $2,000 to reduce food and packaging waste by distributing free okara to the community.

  • West Seattle Tool Library will use its $1,000 grant to expand Fix-it sessions, repair tools, and educate members on the circular repair and reuse ethic.

  • Greenwood Interurban Trail Little Free Library received $1,000 to secure dry storage, helping reduce food waste and ensure the delivery of free, nutritious food to the community.

The ReThink Waste Grants program continues to foster sustainable practices among Seattle businesses and non-profits, encouraging creative solutions to reduce waste and promote environmental stewardship across the city.
