SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The new recycling drop-off facility at 601 E. South Street, Lansing, MI 48910, has opened, according to the City of Lansing Public Service Department. Every day from sunrise to sunset, the centre will be open.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) provided financing for the new recycling centre as part of a recycling infrastructure grant.

In addition to the materials currently accepted through the curbside recycling program, the centre will accept foam polystyrene. Paper, cardboard, boxboard, plastic, metal, glass, and polystyrene will all have bins that are properly designated. There will also be a food trash drop-off bin at the centre.
The new facility offers a free recycling drop-off service to the community. Mayor Andy Schor said in a statement that it helps make Lansing a more sustainable community by providing recycling opportunities to residents who are not enrolled in curbside recycling services.
The City's recycling rates will rise significantly as a result of the new facility. By doing this, it hopes to preserve priceless natural resources, sustain thousands of employment, and produce large economic gains.
