SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Casella Waste Systems, Inc. announced CEO succession plan.
According to a company news release, John W. Casella, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, will transition from Chief Executive Officer to Executive Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2026. Edmond R. “Ned” Coletta, currently the Company’s President, will succeed Casella’s CEO. Additionally, Ned Coletta will join the Board as a Class II director effective on the same date.

John Casella, along with his brother Doug, who founded the company, has led the growth and expansion of Casella Waste Systems.
Commenting on the development, John Casella said that he is incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work from the entire Casella team over the past five decades. Furthermore, he expressed confidence in Ned Coletta and the top executive leadership on their commitment to build on its legacy of delivering exceptional service and sustainable solutions.
After joining the company in December 2004, Coletta has held several leadership positions. He served as CFO before also becoming president in July 2022. He holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University.
