SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Shasta County Department of Resource Management announced that it will host two tire recycling events during the current month. The free recycling events will be open to all county residents, it noted.
The first of the two events will be held on Saturday, June 24 at the VFW Post 9650 at 3210 W Center St. in Anderson 9 AM to 2 PM. The second event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 25 at the Bella Vista Elementary School at 22661 Old Alturas Road in Bella Vista, again from 9 AM to 2 PM, the Department press release said.

The residents are allowed to bring up to nine tires for free recycling. Persons who wish to recycle between 10 and 20 tires need to bring a tire transportation authorization letter from the Department of Resource Management. The maximum allowed per-person limit for tires will be 40, including those recycled for free and those paid.
Also, the events will not accept large truck tires, equipment tires, off-road vehicle tires, or those from waste tire-generating businesses.
The twin tire recycling events are being funded by the Local Government Waste Tire Amnesty Grant Program under the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery.
