MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): The City of Greensboro will hold its Fall 2026 Recycle Rodeo on Saturday, September 19, offering residents a convenient location to drop off several categories of hard-to-recycle household materials.

The free event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at Evangel Fellowship Church of God, located at 2207 E. Cone Blvd. It is open to residents of Greensboro and Guilford County. Business waste will not be accepted.

Documents, Hazardous Waste and Electronics Accepted

Residents may bring sensitive paper records for shredding, including documents such as tax returns and bank statements. Each vehicle is limited to five boxes of documents. Shredding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while space allows.

Household hazardous waste accepted at the event will include batteries, paints, cleaning products, pesticides, fertilizer and gasoline.

The electronics collection will accept a range of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptop and desktop computers, hard drives, monitors and televisions.

Styrofoam Must Meet Drop-Off Requirements

The Recycle Rodeo will also accept clean Styrofoam items, including packaging foam, egg cartons, takeout containers, cups, coolers and plates. Accepted Styrofoam must be free of tape and labels.

Foam peanuts or noodles, bubble wrap, black Styrofoam, squishy or flexible foam, furniture cushions, blue or pink foam insulation and construction foam insulation will not be accepted.

Greensboro hosts two Recycle Rodeos each year, one in the spring and another in the fall, to provide residents with a collection option for hard-to-recycle household materials. Materials collected at the September event will be recycled or safely disposed of, depending on the material.
