Arlington, Texas Sets Free E-Waste and Paper Shredding Event for October 3
The City of Arlington will accept televisions, computers, small electronics and up to two banker-box-sized boxes of paper per vehicle at its October 3 event; proof of Arlington residency is required and trailers are prohibited.
MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): The City of Arlington, Texas will hold a free paper shredding and electronics recycling event on October 3, 2026, giving local residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted documents and a range of electronic equipment.
The collection will operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the southeast corner of Mitchell Street and Cooper Street in the UTA parking area. Vehicles should enter the parking lot from Doug Russell Road at the southern end of the lot.
Arlington Residency and Paper Shredding Requirements
The program is open to Arlington residents, who must provide proof of residency to participate. Trailers will not be permitted.
Paper shredding is limited to two banker-box-sized boxes per vehicle. Documents will be shredded on-site, and the shredding service will end once the truck reaches capacity.
Electronics Accepted at the Arlington Recycling Event
Electronics accepted for recycling include flat-screen and cathode-ray-tube televisions, computers and laptops, computer components, office equipment, stereo equipment, learning consoles, cameras, cellphones, tablets, small corded appliances, microwaves, audio and video equipment, batteries and backup power equipment.
Large household appliances such as washers and dryers will not be accepted. Appliances containing Freon, including refrigerators, freezers, wine coolers and air conditioners, are also excluded.
For disposal of large household items that cannot be brought to the event, the City of Arlington directs residents to contact Republic Services at (817) 317-2000.
