Newton Recycling Event to Accept Electronics, Appliances and Scrap Metal
MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): Newton residents will be able to dispose of electronics, appliances and scrap metal during a special recycling event on Saturday, September 12th, 2026. The event is part of the recycling opportunities tracked by RecyclingMonster.
The drop-off will take place in the city parking lot at North 2nd Avenue West and West 4th Street North. Collection hours will be from 8 a.m. until noon.
Items Accepted at the Newton Recycling Event
Residents will be able to bring electronics, appliances and scrap metal to the event. Other accepted items include:

Newton’s Public Works Department says the company is certified by the Iowa DNR and the EPA to safely de-manufacture appliances, electronics and Freon-containing units.
