SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Chicago has launched a new citywide campaign to encourage residents and visitors to help reduce litter, by improving thier recycling habits. The program aims to keep public spaces clean throughout the summer season.
Mayor Brandon Johnson, Alderman David Moore, and the city's Departments of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) and Environment (DOE) introduced the "Keep Chicago Clean" initiative, a public awareness program that seeks to encourage proper waste disposal, thereby supporting the city's long-term sustainability goals.

As part of the initiative, CTA trains and buses, Divvy bike station displays, and baggage claim areas at O'Hare and Midway airports will feature public service advertisements. The campaign features images of residents cleaning neighborhoods, parks, and other public spaces.
According to officials, the "Keep Chicago Clean" campaign will continue throughout the summer, when tourism, outdoor festivals, concerts, and community events bring larger crowds across the city. They encouraged everyone to dispose of waste properly and keep Chicago's streets, parks, and public spaces clean. They noted that cleaner public spaces contribute to healthier communities and support Chicago's broader climate and environmental objectives.
The campaign also complements the city's ongoing waste management efforts.
