SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Augusta is urging residents to kick off their spring cleaning efforts early by participating in a free recycling event scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026. The initiative is part of the city’s quarterly recycling program aimed at curbing illegal dumping and promoting responsible waste disposal across Richmond County.
The recycling drive will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Augusta-Richmond County Landfill, located at 4330 Deans Bridge Road in Blythe, Georgia. City officials encourage residents to arrive early and ensure they meet participation requirements.

Accepted materials include scrap tires, whether on or off the rim, and a range of electronic waste such as computers, televisions, and cell phones. The event provides a convenient and environmentally responsible way to dispose of items that are not collected during regular curbside services. Notably, scrap tires are not picked up during weekly curbside collection.
Participants must present proof of Richmond County residency. Commercial tires and business vehicles will not be accepted at the event. Additional recycling dates for 2026 include May 16, September 19, and November 21, reinforcing Augusta’s commitment to sustainable waste management practices.
