SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Keep Paris Beautiful (KPB) has announced its annual Tree Giveaway and Electronics Recycling Event, scheduled for Saturday, February 28, at the Lamar County Courthouse parking lot. On the south end of the parking lot, KPB board members will distribute more than 1,000 bare root saplings at no cost to residents. The two foot tall trees have been selected by the Texas Forestry Service to suit local soil conditions. Available species include Shumard oak, Nuttall oak, cherry bark oak, pecan, and bald cypress. Each household may receive up to five trees, depending on availability.

Meanwhile, the north end of the lot will host an electronics and appliance recycling drop off. Residents may bring computers, televisions, printers, stereo equipment, kitchen appliances, cables, and other electronics. Refrigerators, freezers, and window air conditioners are also accepted, provided freon has been removed. City of Paris staff will assist with unloading items during the event.

The initiative continues KPB’s long running mission to beautify Paris community.
