SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Businesses and families in Seneca County will get a special chance to dispose of their excess paint. The Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls will offer a free community event on Saturday, October 11 from 8 a.m. to noon, organized by the nationwide nonprofit PaintCare.
Old paint, stain, varnish, and sealants from qualifying businesses and households will be accepted during the event. PaintCare's PaintShare giveaway will also provide attendees the opportunity to peruse leftover paint that can be reused, but only while supplies last.

The paint must be delivered in its original, clearly marked container. Households are free to bring as much paint as they like. Containers that are empty, unlabeled, leaky, or contain aerosols will not be accepted. To participate in the event, you must first register. Additionally, competitors must enter via NY-89, the college's primary entrance.
PaintCare's New York Program Manager, Andrew Radin, encouraged local companies and people to take part in the event and clean out their storage spaces, garages, and basements.
More than 2.5 million gallons of paint have been collected throughout the state by PaintCare New York since its founding in 2022. The small charge received from the sale of new paint is used to fund the initiative.
