SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Guilford County Environmental Services and the Town of Summerfield will host a community recycling event. The Summerfield Summer-Cycle Community Recycling Event will be held at the Summerfield Community Center, located at 5404 Centerfield Rd, Summerfield, NC 27358 on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m, a county news release said.
The event will be open to all Guilford County residents. Businesses are not allowed to participate in the event.
The recycling event will accept a wide range of items such as appliances, electronics, tires, foam, plastic bags and cardboards. There will be a limit of up to 50 passenger tires or 10 heavy truck tires per vehicle. Also, large equipment tires will not be accepted. The plastic bags must be clean and the cardboard broken down. Meanwhile, foam peanuts will not be accepted.
The event will also offer paper shredding services. However, there will be a limit of up to five box files per vehicle.
The news release noted that household hazardous items such as batteries, fuels, and bulbs will not be accepted at this event. Residents are advised to take household hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Center, 2750 Patterson St., Greensboro, NC.
