Reina Recycling Announced Success of its America Recycles Day Celebration

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Reina Recycling and Recovery Centre held an Open House in connection with America Recycles Day celebrations. The recycling collection event, which was held at their Fort Street premises from 12 noon to 5 PM last Saturday was touted as a huge success.

According to Sherry Kruch, co-owner of the Center, the Open House event turned out to be a big success. The event witnessed huge turnout from the community. It provided rare opportunity for residents to drop off their televisions for recycling free of cost. It helped to divert several pounds of electronics from landfills. The weather also remained favouravble, Kruch noted.

At least a couple dozens of CRT TVs and flat screen TVs were collected. Also, a few dozen of older Chromebooks were dropped off. A total of over 3,500 pounds of electronics were received. Out of this, TVs and monitors accounted for almost 1,300 pounds.

Apart from getting a chance to talk with many familiar people, the event helped Reina Recycling and Resource Recovery to connect with several new visitors, officials said.
