APR, RecyClass Mark Third Year of Plastic Recyclability Collaboration


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) and RecyClass have published the third annual progress report on their joint effort to advance global harmonization of plastic recyclability standards.

The report highlights key achievements, including alignment on natural polypropylene design guidance, agreement on tie layers fully compatible with polyethylene film recycling, and a shared definition for blue tints in PET applications.

Over the past year, both organizations conducted extensive testing campaigns, coordinating study scope and execution while jointly evaluating findings.

Looking ahead, APR and RecyClass plan additional testing campaigns to further refine Design for Recycling Guidelines across various packaging formats. The organizations aim to improve global recyclability alignment and support packaging solutions that can be more effectively recycled worldwide, strengthening progress toward a circular plastics value chain.
