SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): VLS Environmental Solutions has announced the acquisition of IDR Environmental Services, a Los Angeles–based provider of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services. The strategic move strengthens VLS’ presence across the U.S. West Coast and enhances its ability to deliver comprehensive environmental solutions to a wide range of industries.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, IDR operates a strategically located 10-day hazardous waste transfer facility in Azusa. The facility supports hazardous and non-hazardous waste management for industries including manufacturing, medical services, government agencies, education institutions, and commercial real estate operators.

The addition of IDR complements VLS’ existing logistics operations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and Tijuana. VLS also operates hazardous and non-hazardous waste processing and logistics facilities in Quartzsite, Phoenix, and Tijuana. Together, these assets create a stronger operational network for industrial, government, and commercial customers.
According to John Magee, the acquisition will accelerate growth while expanding the company’s environmental service capabilities. Former IDR owner Dawn DeVroom noted that the integration will create a more agile and scalable organization.
Richard Espinoza described the merger as a key milestone that will expand customer value through combined expertise, technology, and operational networks.
