SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), in partnership with Keep Orlando Beautiful, hosted a community cleanup event at Eagle Nest Park. The event was held during the Association’s second annual National Plastics Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Keep Orlando Beautiful offered logistical support and materials for the event. A total of 40 volunteers took part in the effort, removing waste in Orlando. Around 155 pounds of mismanaged waste was collected during the cleanup event, out of which 7 pounds were recyclable.

The association takes pride in promoting the proper use of plastic as a sustainable resource in the communities it serves, said Leslie Jutte, Senior Director of Industry Engagement at PLASTICS. She noted that the industry's goal is to prevent plastic garbage from entering the environment so that it may continue to play a vital role in a circular economy. She also exhorted customers to take proactive measures to guarantee that plastics are recycled in an ethical manner.
Cleaning up rubbish in the neighborhood can benefit both people and wildlife, according to Madison Szathmary, Keep Orlando Beautiful Coordinator for the City of Orlando.
Through group action, the event illustrated PLASTICS' dedication to environmental sustainability.
