SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The DeKalb County Sanitation Division announced that a free paper shredding event will be held for residents next month. The paper shredding event will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 8 a.m to Noon at Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30032.

The participation in the event is free and is open to all DeKalb County, Georgia residents. The participants in the event will have to show their proof of residency. There will be a limit of up to ten standard-size boxes of paper per participant. Also, commercial participation is not allowed.
The event will provide an opportunity for residents to dispose of all types of documents, including sensitive personal documents such as old tax records and legal documents, said a news release from the County. All documents will be shredded on-site. The Sanitation Division will carry out shredding services in partnership with A1 Shredding & Recycling, it noted.
