Casella Waste Systems Honored 2025 Sustainability Leadership Award Winners

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Casella Waste Systems, Inc. honored four organizations for their accomplishments in sustainability. The University of Vermont Medical Center, The Arc Otsego, Dartmouth College, and Primo Brands have won the 2025 Sustainability Leadership Awards.

Primo Brands, a well-known branded beverage company in North America, was recognized for incorporating the concepts of the circular economy into its main business plan by creating goods that prolong their life cycles and cut down on waste. It has recycled a variety of materials, such as plastic, metal, and fiber, in collaboration with Casella.

Through on-campus material recovery challenge events, Dartmouth College and Casella have diverted things such as tires, electronics, and food trash. Casella most recently coordinated a Campus Waste Diversion Project led by students.

The Arc Otsego, a nonprofit organization situated in Otsego County, New York, has teamed up with Casella to provide recycling services for materials that are difficult to recycle, such as plastic film, fluorescent bulbs, polystyrene, and more.

Additionally, Casella and the University of Vermont Medical Center collaborated to introduce extensive waste reduction programs throughout the campus. For example, more than 100 tons of surgical wrap have been diverted by the well-known operating room recycling program.
